Following hip surgery, Nalbandian out for 4 months

15th ranked David Nalbandian, who has been ranked as high as number 4 in the world, underwent hip surgery, which will sideline the Argentine for 4 months. Unfortunately, Nalbandian will miss all the remaining Grand Slams, Argentina's David Cup tie and multiple Masters 1000 tournament in between. Nalbandian is always considered a sleeper, having rose from the dead to take back to back Masters tournaments in 2007. He also gave Rafael Nadal quite a scare in Indian Wells, forcing the Spaniard to fight off 5 match points. Last week, the former Wimbledon semifinalist lost to Paul Capdeville in Estoril. The hospital that performed surgery on Nalbandian will keep him in Barcelona until the end of May, and then let Nalbanian return to Argentina.
