Indian Wells Results


Dimara Safina, Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki were just a few of the top names that were in action on Friday in the dessert. Safina won in straight sets, although she was a point away from dropping the first. Azarenka struggled, but slugged out a victory in 3 and Wozniacki looked stellar in dominating Timea Bacsinsky. Shahar Peer upset 10th seeded Marion Bartoli and Amelie Mauresmo mounted a comeback to win in 3. On the men's side, teen phenomenom Ernests Gulbis defeated Kevin Kim to win in straights, while Sam Querrey upset struggling Guillermo Canas to win 7-6, 6-2. Other men's winners included Tommy Haas, Jeremy Chardy and Ivan Ljubicic.
