Rome and Stuttgart Results

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer both advanced to the 3rd round of the Rome Masters tournament on Wednesday, after 2 previous days full of rain. This morning, sitting in front of my T.V., I watched Andy Murray completely overwhelm Juan Monaco in the 1st set of their match. I then had to run, but the result was a forgone conclusion, so I thought. Monaco fought back and upset the world number 4. Nikolay Davydenko was also upset, leaving the top half wide open for Nadal. The upsets continued as Jo Wilfried Tsonga and David Ferrer both lost. Richard Gasquet, Paul Henri Mathieu and Radek Stepanek all had to play 2 matches today because of the rain on Monday and Tuesday. Stepanek and Gasquet won them both. In Stuttgart, Jelena Jankovic advanced to the Round of 16, but Victoria Azarenka was upset by Gisela Dulko. Svetlana Kuznetsova, Nadia Petrova and Flavia Pennetta all advanced as well.
