In women's action on Thursday, Jelena Jankovic, Kaia Kanepi, Carla Suarez Navarro, Sara Errani and Klara Zakopalova all advanced to the quarterfinals in Marbella. At the U.S. Clay Court Championships, nearly all the seeds have been trounced as unseeded players like Lleyton Hewitt, Tommy Haas and Bjorn Phau are rolling and looking to make a deep run. Igor Andreev, the number 1 seed in Casablanca, had to once again face a 3-setter against Nicolas Devilder. The first set was a marathon, with an ending score 13-11 in the tiebreak, which went to Devilder. Andreev then took the 2nd set, in another tiebreak and closed out the third with 1 break. Florent Serra and Marc Gicquel both advanced to the quarters.
