The Monte Carlo Rolex Masters 1000 kicked off on Sunday and 2 seeded players were on court. 11th seeded Tommy Robredo dominated veteran Rainer Schuettler while 13th seeded Stanislas Wawrinka got the best of Viktor Troiki. Simone Bolleli and Robin Soderling played the only 3 set match of the day, with Bolleli prevailing. German, Philipp Kohlschreiber showed youngster and teenage phenomenon Ernests Gulbis just what it takes to make it to the elites, by dropping just 4 games in a pounding of the Latvian.
