Clay King, Rafael Nadal, advanced to the 3rd round in Barcelona on Wednesday with an impressive victory over Federico Gil. Number 2 seed Fernando Verdasco and 3 seed Nikolay Davydenko both advanced with wins, but looked vulnerable at times. Spaniards Nicholas Almagro, Tommy Robredo and Feliciano Lopez also advanced. Argentines David Nalbandian and Juan Monaco both won 7-5, 6-4, while Stanislas Wawrinka looked commanding in his win over Mikhail Youzhny. Other winners included Fernando Gonzalez, Radek Stepanek and Tomas Berdych. Robin Soderling and Richard Gasquet were both upset.
