Wimbledon Results- Day 8

Venus Williams, who has hoisted the Wimbledon trophy 5 times, kicked off ladies' quarterfinals day with a stellar performance against Aggie Radwanska, in which V won in 2 easy sets. Dinara Safina struggled immensly against Sabine Lisicki, losing the 1st set and hitting 15 double faults. Dinara always seems to find a way through, though, winning in 3 sets to clinch a meeting with Venus. Elena Dementieva continued her quiet yet impressive run through the draw, reaching her 2nd consecutive Wimby semifinal appearance after demolishing Francesca Schiavone. Serena finished the day with a world class showing against dangerous Victoria Azarenka. Serena hit just 1 unforced error in the 1st set and dropped just 5 games to advance.
