London, Halle and Birmingham Results

Andy Roddick got his grass court debut off to a good start on Tuesday when he routed Kristof Vliegan in the first round in London. Gael Monfils advanced as well, but had a much tougher time than Roddick, as the Frenchman was pushed to 3 sets by Andre Golubev. Ernests Gulbis was upset and Feliciano Lopez advanced in 3. James Blake, Mardy Fish and Ivo Karlovic also won. In Halle, Novak Djokovic and Jo Wilfried Tsonga both advanced 7-5, 6-2 while Olivier Rochus didn't drop a game in his domination of Fernando Vicente. Jurgen Melzer and Mischa Zverev also won. Roger Federer pulled out of the tournament after long 2 weeks of tennis in Paris, ending with a historic win. The ladies action in Birmingham saw Anne Keothavong advance comfortably in front of her home crowd and Julie Georges win easily. Sania Mirza and Melinda Czink advanced as well.
