Uncle Toni criticizes "stupid" French crowd

France has a long history in the tennis world, but their fans, who scream and holler at the top of their lungs, can never catch a break. Toni Nadal, uncle to world number 1 Rafael Nadal, who lost in the Round of 16, called the Frenchies the 2nd worst crowd in tennis, behind the Parisians, of corse. The French fans' lack of support for his nephew, who has won the tournament the last 4 years, prompted Toni to say this in an interview with Spanish radio station, "Cadena Ser."

"There is only one set of supporters that is worse than the French and that is the Parisians. They say it themselves and it's true, the Parisian crowd is pretty stupid. I think the French don't like it when a Spaniard wins. Wanting someone to lose is a slightly conceited way of amusing yourself. They show the stupidity of people who think themselves superior."
