The ninth day of the U.S. Open saw El Matador, Rafael Nadal, play a thrilling match against Gael Monfils. The Spaniard, who regained his number two ranking with the win, dropped the first set but obliterated the Frenchman in the final three. Nadal will square off wit Fernando Gonzalez in the quarterfinals, while Juan Martin del Potro, playing arguably better tennis than any of his peers, will face Marin Cilic, who upset a seemingly bored, drained, expressionless and non-energetic Andy Murray. It sure looks like Britain's high hopes for Andy have effected him in Grand Slams, as he continually plays an extremely passive game against big-hitters. The first two women's semifinal spots were up for grabs on Tuesday, and Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters snatched them both up, with straight set victories over Flavia Pennetta and Li Na respectively.

I have been following Gael Monfils on Prince's facebook page (www.facebook.com/official.prince.tennis) so I was realy sad to see him lose. But how exciting was that match?! Nadal will surely beat Gonzalez now..
