U.S. Open Results- Day 8



Day eight of the U.S. Open was all about Melanie Oudin, who reached her first GS quarterfinal and upset her fourth consecutive Russian. Roger Federer advanced to his 24th straight Grand Slam quarterfinal after dominating Tommy Robredo, and the Swiss Maestro will play Robin Soderling, who was up two sets to one on Nikolay Davydenko before the Russian retired. Kateryna Bondarenka advanced to the final eight after double-bageling Gisela Dulko. Bondarenko will face Yanina Wickmayer. In the night match, Carolina Wozniacki fought back from a one set deficit against Svetlana Kuznetsova to advance to her first Grand Slam quarter. Fernando Verdasco and Novak Djokovic both advanced as well.
