Ana, Venus, Svetlana, Flavia and Dinara All out in Tokyo

The WTA (Whining Tennis Association) has been extremely embarrassing as of late. The world number 1, Dinara Safina, has lost two matches in a row, both to players ranked outside the top 100. The number 3 player in the world, Venus Williams, has lost in the first or second round of six events this year. Ana Ivanovic, a former number 1 and 2008 French Open champion, has lost three consecuive matches and has made it past the fourth round of just one event all year. Not surprisingly, those three dissapointments, and Svetlana Kuznetsova and Flavia Pennetta, all lost their opening matches at the Toray Pan Pacific. Safina cried a river while doing it.
