This is becoming comedic and it almost hurts to cover women's tennis right now. Dinara Safina, Venus Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova lost their opening matches at the Toray Pan Pacific Open yesterday, but just when you thought the state of women's tennis could not get any worse, the number three, four and six seeds go out and play horrific tennis today. That leaves the resident WTA drama queen, Jelena Jankovic, as the highest seed remaining. Elena Dementieva and Vera Zvonareva both lost tough three setters to Kateryna Bondarenko and Alisa Kleybanova, respectively while fourth seeded Caroline Wozniacki was about to be bageled in the first set before she retired against Aleksandra Wozniack. Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, Jankovic and Na Li all advanced, thank God.
