The world number 1, King of clay and 6 time Grand Slam champ did it again. Yes, it's hard to believe, but Rafael Nadal won his 3rd straight tournament, his 4th Rome title, his 30th straight match on clay and his 14th straight match this season. Nadal handed Novak Djokovic another loss in a final, as the Serb will lose his number 3 ranking to Andy Murray on May 11th. Djokovic had numerous oppurtunities and had the momenum after he broke Nadal to tie the first set at 5. Nadal, though, dominated the tiebreak and ran away with the 2nd set. “The ball was bouncing really, really high here today and that made my shots really difficult, especially from the backhand side,” said Djokovic. Nadal improved his 2009 record to 38-3 and won his 5th tournament of the season.
