Kei Nishikori withdrew from the French Open yesterday because of a lingering injury to his right elbow. Nishikori, who took the title at Delray Beach in 2008, has not played a tour match since Indian Wells. His highest ranking has been 56th, but he has since dropped to 117th. At the U.S. Open in September, the Japan native elminated David Ferrer on his way to the final 16. Roland Garros begins on Sunday, bu Nishikori hopes to be back in time for Wimbledon, which starts in late June.
