Albert Montanes, a natural ditballer and 7th seed at the Estoril Open, defeated James Blake to win the rown in Portugal. En route to his victory, Montanes defeatd number 1 sed, Gilles Simon. Although Blake was fatiqued, Montanes still fought back after losing the 1st set. Blake was as close to the title as you can get, but the Spaniard pulled out the 2nd set tiebreak and bageled Blake in the final set. With a win, Blake could have become the first American to win a title on European clay in 6 years.
