Estroil and Rome Results

In Estoril, number 2 seed Nikolay Davydenko advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over Juan Carlos Ferrero, but 3 seed David Ferrer, who usually excels on clay, was upset by dirtballer Oscar Hernandez. Mardy Fish and Paul Capdeville also triumphed. James Blake played his 1st round match, and barely got by Federico Gil. Victoria Azarenka looked as impressive as ever in a straight set win over fellow up-and-comer, Carolina Wozniacki. Dinara Safina narrowly won after trailing 5-2 in the 3rd, while Ana Ivanovic was stunned by Agnieszka Radwansa. Venus Williams had to fight through yet another 3 setter, but prevailed over Anna Chakvetadze. Svetlana Kuznetsova also won.
