Maria Sharapova is still recovering from a bruised bone in her right elbow and has withdrawn from next week's Family Circle Cup, held in Charleston, South Carolina. Since shoulder surgery in October 2008, the Russian's play has been sporadic and inconsistent, as she has proved herself extremely injury prone.
Her last match was a 3 set loss to Jie Zheng at the BNP Paribas Open.
