Roddick, Stepanek Reach Brisbane Quarters; Henin Advances

At the Brisbane International in Australia, Andy Roddick defeated Carsten Ball in straight sets to reach the quarterfinals, while Radek Stepanek and Gael Monfils both won 3 setters. Justine Henin advanced to the final 8 along with Daniela Hantuchova and Ana Ivanovic in her first tournament back since her retirement in May of 2008.

At the Qatar Open in Doha, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal crushed their respective opponents, Evgueni Korolev and Potito Starace. Nikolay Davydenko defeated Marco Chiudinelli 6-3, 6-4, and Ivo Karlovic pulled out a 3-set victory.
