Nadal to miss Dubai to rest knee for DC

Just days after Roger Federer announced his withdrawal from the Dubai Tennis Championships next week, world number 1 Rafael Nadal has made the highly anticipated announcement that he will also be missing the ATP 500 event. Nadal did reassure the tennis world that he will be competing in Spain's Davis Cup tie against Serbia though. "I am very disappointed not to be able to compete in Dubai, but the doctor has advised me to stay home and rest after the pain in my knee in Rotterdam last week," Nadal posted on his selfnamed website Thursday. "Nothing to be worried about but it needs some rest." Nadal might be scheduled to play against world number 3 Novak Djokovic in the March 6th-8th tie. Nadal's compatriot, Fernando Verdasco announced he will be missing the tournament in Dubai as well.
