Virginie razzano defeated Vera Zvonareva and Dinara Safina on her way to the finals in Dubai, but that all came to a halt when she saw 7-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams across the net. Venus defeated Razzano 6-4, 6-2, to win her 40th career singles title and return to the top 5 in the WTA rankings. Also on Saturday, Jo Wilfried Tsonga defeated Novak Djokovic for the 4th straight time in the semifinals of Marseille, while Andy Roddick and Radek Stepanek both advanced to the finals in Memphis.Memphis
