Serena Williams has been named to Time's 100 Most Influential List for 2010. Last year Serena wrote the accompanying entry for Rafael Nadal, but this year Billie Jean King wrote it for Williams, a 12-time Major champion and avid humanitarian.
"Serena Williams is one of those rare champions who have transcended sports and impacted our society. Her work with children in Kenya and here in the U.S. stresses the importance of education," said King.
"She has several interests — yes, tennis is one of them — but it is this new combination of success on the court and stability in her life that is creating new opportunities, for her and the people whose lives she touches."
Congrats ReRe! The honor is most definitely well-deserved.
