Beijing is one of the few 500-level tournaments all year that the majority of the top players participate in, and from that elite bunch, 2 emerged victorious. Novak Djokovic rather easily disposed of Marin Cilic, coming off a huge win over Rafael Nadal, while Svetlana Kuznetsova crushed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 6-2. "Even though it was a straight-sets win it could easily have gone the other way. I think I was a little bit saved by the rain delay," said Djokovic, following his 6-2, 7-6 (4) victory, his 3rd tournament title of 2009. "I kind of got together my nerves to play well." Kuznetsova needed just an hour and 20 minutes to finish off Radwanska, the 12th seed. Both Djokovic and Cilic will be heading to Shanghai to compete in the prestigious Masters event this week.
