Brisbane and Doha Results, All Chennai Matches Cancelled


Hey guys. Here are your daily results from the Aussie Open leadup tournaments. Some MAJOR news out of Chennai. Not only were all matches cancelled today, but world number 5 Nikolay Davydenko has dropped out of the Australian Open because of a lingering heel injury that has been knagging him since last year. Looks like that means Jo Wilfried Tsonga will be the #5 seed for Melbourne.

What a day it was for the women in Brisbane. World number 5 Ana Ivanovic faced multiple match points while Julie Coin and Amelie Mauresmo battled through a grueling 24 point final set tiebreak. No upsets for the men in Doha, but new-comer Kei Nishikori defeated Tomas Berdych in 2 tough sets.
