Roger and JMDP Advance to U.S.O Final

Juan Martin del Potro and Roger Federer put on quite the shows, and this time, in a positive way, on Ashe Sunday afternoon. JMDP kicked things off with a punishing performance, obliterating Rafael Nadal 6-2, 6-2, 6-2. Following del Potro's magnificent display of shotmaking, Roger Federer kicked it up a notch with an incredible display in his straight set victory over Novak Djokovic. Federer hit a REDICULOUS tweener passing shot to set up match point in his 7-6, 7-5, 7-5 victory. The two will battle it out at 4 EST on CBS on Monday.

Serena Curses Out the Umpire on MP; Gets Docked a Point and Loses the Match vs. Clijsters

Like Serena Williams said at a press conference at the French Open, drama follows her wherever she goes. Saturday night at the Open was no diferent. Serving at 15-30, 5-6 and down a set, Serena Williams was called for a foot-fault on her second serve by the lineswoman on the left baseline. After the controversial call (personally, Serena did NOT foot fault) Serena said something along the lines of, "I'm going to shove this f***ing ball down your throat. You're gonna be f***ing dead." The linesperson then reported what was said to the chair umpire, as she is supposed to do. Serena then walked over argued for a couple seconds, but then accepted the fact that she just cost herself a birth in the U.S. Open finals, and possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars from endorsements. Williams strutted over to Clijsters' side of the net, congratulated her, and walked off of Arthur Ashe Stadium court to an array of "boos". Clijsters will now play Caroline Wozniacki, who defeated Yanina Wickmayer 6-3, 6-3, in the finals.

On Again, Off Again

The rain keeps coming and going and the U.S. Open staff has their panties in a bunch. Yanina Wickmayer and Caroline Wozniacki were supposed to get underway at around 5 pm EST, after the four hour rain delay, starting at one pm, paused. Unfortunately, the rain cam again shortly after the net was put back up, and the schedule is crazy backed up. Thankfully though, Rafael Nadal was able to complete his match with Fernando Gonzalez, obliterating the Chilean. Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters were scheduled to start at 8 pm on Ashe.

U.S. Open Results- Day 12 & 13

Mother nature always seems to cause problems for the year's final Grand Slam in it's final weekend. The rain began Thursday night, and interrupted Rafael Nadal's quarterfinal battle with Fernando Gonzalez. Nadal was leading 7-6 (4), 6-6 (3-2). Juan Martin del Potro finished up with his quarterfinal just a few hours before, defeating Marin Cilic in four sets. Today, the storms continued from the night before, forcing both women' semis and the continuation of the remaining men's quarterfinal to be postponed. The men's final is now on Monday, the women's final now on Sunday and tomorrow, Nadal and Gonzaez will kick off play on Ashe, followed by men's doubles final. After the dubs, Yanina Wickmayer and Carolina Wozniacki will fight for a spot in the final and in primetime Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters will finally play their much anticipated match.

Oudin Shows Up at "Fashion's Night Out"; Hangs with Anna W. and J.T.

Looks like Melanie Oudin has won over some fans with her astounding U.S. Open run. And when I say "some fans", I means HUGE celebs, like the ones she spent time with at "Fashion's Night Out", an event held throughout N.Y.C. last night celebrating the kick-off of New York Fashion Week. Oudin attended Saks 5th Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman with Anna Wintour, the most influential woman in fashion, and Justin Timberlake, who was showingoff his "William Rast" line. Milk it, Mels, it's just the beginning.

U.S. Open Results- Day 10

On day 10 of the Open, Melanie Oudin was unable to continue her Cinderella run and was out-played and out-smarted by fellow teenager Caroline Wozniacki, who is in her first Grand Slam semifinal and is now at a career-high ranking of eight. Wozniacki's semifinal foe will be Yanina Wickmayer, who has been under-the-radar, but extremely impressive in her unexpected run. She beat Kateryna Bondarenko in straight sets. Novak Djokovic didn't play his best (not near it, actually) but was able to fight past a worn-out Fernando Verdasco in four sets to reach the final four. Nole will face a familiar foe, Roger Federer in the semis. Federer played a dynamite match against Robin Soderling, dropping just three games in the first two sets, before splitting the third and fourth in tiebreaks.

Pics from my Open trip....FINALLY!

Enjoy!

U.S. Open Results- Day 9

The ninth day of the U.S. Open saw El Matador, Rafael Nadal, play a thrilling match against Gael Monfils. The Spaniard, who regained his number two ranking with the win, dropped the first set but obliterated the Frenchman in the final three. Nadal will square off wit Fernando Gonzalez in the quarterfinals, while Juan Martin del Potro, playing arguably better tennis than any of his peers, will face Marin Cilic, who upset a seemingly bored, drained, expressionless and non-energetic Andy Murray. It sure looks like Britain's high hopes for Andy have effected him in Grand Slams, as he continually plays an extremely passive game against big-hitters. The first two women's semifinal spots were up for grabs on Tuesday, and Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters snatched them both up, with straight set victories over Flavia Pennetta and Li Na respectively.
