World number 2 Rafael Nadal is hoping to play in the Rogers Cup, August 8th-16th, in Montreal. The Spaniard has been resting the last month with knee tendinitis, and was unable to defend his Wimbledon crown because of it. Nadal won the Rogers Cup, a Masters 1000 event, last year, defeating Nicholas Kiefer in the finals. Roger Federer is also hoping he can compete, but Mirka, Federer's wife, is apparently expecting the couple's 1st child that week.
